It’s Earth week, our favourite time of the year for learning. The week we get to celebrate our love for the planet and maybe even educate. Here are some craft ideas for you and your kiddies. Getting messy and creative can be a lovely teaching moment about the importance of climate change and looking after our earth.
An Earth Day craft that uses old orange peels? Yes please! Get messy and make it a teaching moment about food waste!
If crafting isn’t for you or you simply want to explore this topic more, here are some climate change books recommendations for your children.

Here We Are: Notes for Living on Planet Earth by Oliver Jeffers
This book explores what makes our planet and how we live on it.
Our children learn from us in all sorts of ways we don’t realise. If we care about the planet, our kids will most likely grow up with the same morals and beliefs. Earth Day crafts are one way of educating our children. But the clean up after crafting can be just as educational as the activity with our eco-friendly surface sprays.
Our children will ask “Why don’t you buy ‘normal’ cleaning products from the supermarket?” or “Why are you doing a science experiment in the kitchen?” And we can explain that these cleaning products don’t require a new bottle every time. You never know, you might even persuade them into cleaning themselves by using our planet saving surface sprays (that might be a step too far).
Having little ones makes us even more conscious of the legacy we are leaving behind when it comes to the planet. Make a small sustainable swap for the next generation.
